What could cause a loud thump in the left rear axle when starting out from a stop? Sounds like something needs to catch up!

Will need to know more. I need the year, make and model of the car. Also, mileage please. It could be anything depending on age. If the car / truck is older it could be wheel bearings, shock / struck, leaf spring, brake calipers not releasing, or brake pads sticking when emergency brake applied, bushings wearing out to the transmission and the rear axle needing service. Please forward more info and will see what we can find.

Brake/pads/caliper/mounts may need servicing or loose. Loose shock, sway bar ect. Exhaust loose or bad.

Okay with the van being AWD you need to have it taken and have the rear differential checked along with the rear suspension. It may need servicing since it is AWD.
