Big red one goes to the batt. one small one is an exciter for the regulator , it needs an initial charge from the batt when you turn the key to get the alt to charge , your regulator is probably external , , another wire is the voltage sensor for the regulator , Your experience may differ . Maybe there's a classic ford forum on the interweb somewhere .
