What is tranfer

The transfer case is what puts the vehical in 4 wd or 2 wd

sorry milt ya got me stumpped,you might; well,, on the busses i know i hear a lot of times someone saying i got to get a tranfer to go across town ,or you got a tranfer? I dont mingle so I never yelled who needs a tranfer, then I could have questioned about it deducing it to delineate it

Tom McMannis, this is a simple omission of the letter 's'. Too fast the typist was, and too incapable of proof reading (if you don't know how to spell), hence tranfer instead of transfer case, which is what the question was, thought it was simply a front-back differential, but can block the power to the rear to make this transfer case do something for a living~

I do not know what a "tranfer" is. I think you mean "Transfer Case" it "Transfer's" the car/trucks power from 2wd to 4wd and vice versa. Most of todays trucks and cars are chain driven however some are still just a bunch of gears. When the Jockey Box is bolted on the tranny we call this married when it is not its divorced. critisize sorry. Probly spelt it wrong again. Spelling is not mine and alot of other people on here strongest point. We just try to get the message across and help each other and not degrade each other
