Right front turn signal flashes too fast and rear brake and turn signals don't work

I was told that the universal turn signal switch in the steering column is the problem, explanation I was given by many mechanics is that all of your wiring for all of your lighting runs through that. I just got a new one, so I will keep you guys posted if it works.
