2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid wont start when really hot!

Asked by Ken Jun 01, 2020 at 03:41 PM about the 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hey there!

The other day my wifes car started just fine and she went to the grocery
store. When she was done shopping she went to start her hybrid camry and
it didn't start! Her camry has the smart key system, but it was reading that
the key was inserted.

We tried everything from jumping it, to manually starting via holding the
button down for a long time. Well we went back later after it cooled down,
and viola, it started right up.

I was told it was probably my BCM that was going bad, so I took everything
apart looking for a BCM on top of my fuse box but it's not there!

I think it's because I have the hybrid version so it may located somewhere
else.

Any ideas for me?

I should say when hot OUTSIDE not when the car is hot. It always runs great and at normal operating temps.
