2007 Toyota Camry hybrid

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My hybrid mode stopped working, still drives using gas. AC
stopped working at the same time. Hybrid system fan
above rear seat blows constantly. Check hybrid system
codes flashing on screen etc. I removed 12v battery,  tested
and charged good. Is there anything else I can check
myself before taking this vehicle into a shop? Fuses? Is it
okay to drive without hybrid system working? Thanks in

Had this same problem. Cruise control wouldn't even work. Ultimately I ended up having to replace that hybrid battery (not cheap at all). But I did drive it for a while with just the gas option until I could get the money together to replace that battery. I didn't notice any issues, although I wouldn't recommend making this a permanent option. Once the battery was replaced everything was back to normal except the a/c issue. I haven't tackled that yet. Could just be a fuse.

The hybrid battery needs to be maintained: 1. Need to clean out all the corrosion on the terminal connections. The hybrid battery needs to be removed from the trunk. 2. The hybrid ventilation battery system needs to be cleaned for increasing airflow to the hybrid battery. Hope that help.
