Why does my mustang sound like a cow?

Asked by gina May 16, 2023 at 01:51 PM about the 2020 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Convertible RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When my daughter arrived at work (30 minute
drive) her mustang was making a mooing
sound. Check engine light says something
about evac system. Will she be able to drive
home and what might this be?

Probably she will be able to drive it home. The code is for fuel vapor from the fuel tank. This might still be under warranty so call the dealer with the VIN and see if it’s covered. Make sure you tell them about the sound. I believe there is a video on You Tube about that sound, but I can’t remember what make of vehicle it was.

Failed vent or clogged canister in EVAP system. The car will drive, but not well. It's a 2020, so might still be under warranty. I'd rush to a Ford dealer, POST HASTE.
