Nissan Altima 2003 dies on its own and doesn't start

I have a 2003 3.5L Nissan Altima, Manual. I'm having two problems with
my car. Problem #1, when I do a cold start, the car starts fine but the more
stops I make (Stop as in when I need to gas up or go to the grocery store
and stop the car), the harder it is to start the car after. After a several
stops, the car doesnt start and I need to hit the starter a few times for it to
start. Problem #2 started a few days ago when I was driving. The car just
suddenly stopped as I was taking off at a stop sign. It happened twice after
that within 15 seconds each time. I played with the battery plugs and hit the
starter a few times and it started, barely, after turning the key for several
seconds. What do you guys think?

Too much guessing here. Is the Check Engine Light on? Even if not the car needs an OBDII scan. Pounding on the starter is not a solution, in my opinion that had nothing to do with getting it running, but rather the time passed. Make sure the battery ground is good to the block or chassis -wherever it attaches. Repeated short trips without running it on the highway for at least 20 minutes on occasion causes a lot of problems, from EGR and PCV .. ya gotta blow out the gunk so to say
