Transmission Shift Solenoid it sets out side of transmission shifter cable goes to it. I know this because it happened to my vehicle.

Did this solve the shifting problem? I am having the same issue. I think the most telling part is that I can pull over and turn the Titan off and let it sit for a minute and restart it. After the restart the problem goes away. This seems like a computer sensor or electrical problem to me.
