Spring came off the back of car?

Asked by Shannon May 20, 2020 at 06:16 PM about the 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class A 250 Hatchback FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hey, i was driving my car around a corner and i
heard a loud bang from the back of my car. The
following day I drove to test how the car was and
the spring came off the back left hand side of my
car. Also when my car is now stopped it is making a
loud noise from the engine, almost like a rattling
which it never has before as this is usually silent.
Does anyone know if this would just be the spring
that needs replaced or if it sounds like there is
anything further wrong with the vehicle? Mercedes

Don't continue to drive the car, without the spring it is not safe for you or others on the road. The spring might have rusted and broke and or something else broke for it fall out. The noise might be the exhaust hitting the body since the car is leaning to one side without the spring. Get it into a garage ASAP for a proper repair.
