2004 Nissan Pathfinder low oil truck goes into"safe-mode"

I bought a used pathfinder 2004  it has twice  lost all its oil and gone into safe mode.
first time I thought it was the transnission. It doesnt leak in driveway Idont see anything
underside or in engine, it does not give off bad exhaust.  I added oil a month ago
checked it full 2 weeks ago coming back from a 150mile highway trip it went into safe
mode:(

anybody run into this please help!!1

I put in 4 quarts of oil both times oil sensor didnt come on not sure it has one will check today , the first time the engine light came on
