How do i know if it's my transmission or my clutch? 1.8 4cyl Special edition

Asked by Jason Dec 20, 2016 at 11:15 AM about the 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8 S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have manual trans, I am not sure what the problem is. Today when i tried to
drive it today. I was able to shift through the gears, but it would not move well.
When I cycled through the gears it felt like I stayed in first gear the whole time
it would not go over 15MPH. even in 2 or 3rd gear. Any ideas???

Don't mind my grammar above, I'm at work doing this, so it was quick please let me know if you need more information.

Ok,could weather play a factor in this? This was happening in the morning. It was only 7 degrees out. Something could have possible been frozen. I tried to drive it when i got home from work yesterday, It drove like nothing even happened. I ask some other people who are more mechanically inclined than I am and they said that I there could be water in my Transmission? Do you think this is possible? It has only done that when it was super cold outside.
