It does ...my local mechanic says the noise is coming from the motor. I had advanced auto check with their computer it said something about head gasket

I am not sure how a computer can diagnose a leaking head gasket but if your car is blowing a lot of white smoke out the exhaust pipe the head gasket is probably bad.

There's no white smoke coming from the exhaust pipe it's making a rattling noise

The timing chain may be rattling. You need to find a competent mechanic to diagnose the problem.
