Ticking noise on right side on engine

Asked by Julie Jan 28, 2017 at 10:41 AM about the 2006 Nissan Altima

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2006 Nissan Altima is making a weird sound coming
from the right side of the engine. The sound is similar rot
the sound a playing card makes when stuck between the
spokes of moving by circle wheel. Does my one know
what's causing that sound?

Right side as in passenger side or right side as in standing in front of engine looking at it?

My brand new altima is doing the same thing...passenger side. They told me it was normal at the dealer, but it doesn’t seem like it should be a normal sound from a new car... it sounds like a lawn mower. Any suggestions?

I'm having the same sound coming from my 2018 Nissan Altima sr, standing in front of the car, the sound comes from the left side or the motor, reading into what the possible issue is, I read that the noise is caused by wear of the timing chain and tensioner, overtime this can cause costly issues in the long run, doing frequent maintenance should prolong these effects, or if you have the money, go ahead and get it fixed
