Acceleration

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 Nissan maxima it does not seem to
accelerate as normal. I notice the difference when
I drive. It is not picking up the normal speed. At
one point it took very little for it to accelerate when
placing your foot on the gas. Every once in awhile
it would buck very quickly and go away and don't
happen again for a long while.  Can you suggest
why the acceleration is not taken place like
normal.  I was thinking about having the fuel filter
check, plugs check and air filter.

I would suggest trying those general maintenance things you suggested doing first.
