2000 maxima loses acceleration power

After sitting for a couple of days my Maxima which has 200kmiles losses acceleration power for about 5 to 10 miles, then it runs great. Now to explain further it is a manual transmission, and I do not lose electrical power, the car does not die, but rather it acts like the governor is tripped. The rpm's do not rev or indicate any slipping in the tranny or clutch. After a couple of seconds if I do not press the clutch when the problem corrects itself the car leaps. I have not had any experience with this issue so any help would be appreciated.

Just a guess but maybe the fuel system is gummed up. Try using a good fuel system cleaner such as Seafoam or Techron. You may want to go ahead and do a tuneup and filter change.

Done the fuel system treatment, and tune up, but the filter is on the pump on this car so I have not done that yet
