2006 Nissan Altima broken down less than 48 hours after being on the road!!!

Asked by Guru9P6XNN Jul 09, 2022 at 02:40 PM about the 2006 Nissan Altima 2.5 S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car had no issues according to seller and was driving okay ish until this point. Suddenly while driving all the dash lights came on then the car just lost power and died. When you try to start it you can hear the car turning over but it wont catch. I hoped it was a battery issue so i tried jumping it and it did the same exact thing but still wont actually start. Im really at a loss and the mechanic isnt open near me for a few days. Any advice/guess?

We can't see the car from here. Have it diagnosed. But it sounds like it might be a bad alternator or a defective ignition key..... Why would you buy a fifteen year old car without having a mechanic check it out for you prior to purchase?
