Idle speed to high

Asked by Manly_Young Sep 12, 2017 at 11:13 AM about the 1992 Mazda B-Series B2600i Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My truck idles at 2500+ RPMS when I startup.
Doesn't kick down after warm up. When I shift, or
put in neutral, or, push in clutch, RPMS jump back
up?? Seems to run ok, but engine is reved up

Hey bud my dads truck does the same thing. It rev's high and seems to be a bit louder and a loss of power is obvious as well. Once I found the air leaks that were all over its vacuum system and fixed them all the truck came back to life justblike it was new. Check all the air lines and replace any that even remotely look slightly worn. Good luck bud. Our truck just went kaapuutt. I think it's our alternator or battery.
