How long has it been since th transmission has new fluid and filter? I don't know what's causing the hesitation but it's a good place to start. Tell the shop and maybe they can adjust or replace something.

a sticking valve ,a leaking gasket all valve body related. not beyond a keen mind ,but beyond trying to get congenial results. therefore a rebuild will be in order, its todays forced way, sorry no more mr.nice guy.
