I got a 1997 ford escort when i mess on the gas all
the way to the floor it take a couple of seconds to
go .why is that

When i press the gas all the way to the floor it take a couple of seconds for it to go sonetimes when i press on the gas to the floor.

Check your speed sensor and your throttle positioning sensor. Also you can try and get throttle body cleaner and remove the throttle body and clean it. Pls let me know if this helps or works
