1981 cutlass

MY 1981 CUTLASS SUPREME TURNS ON BUT WILL NOT STAY ON . WHY IS
THAT....... I ALSO INSTALLED NEW DISTRIBUTOR HOWEVER IT DOES NOT
HAVE A ECM CONNECTION BUT MY OLD DISTRIBUTOR HAS A ECM
CONNECTION. WHERE SHOULD I CONNECT ECM ON NEW DISTRIBUTOR

When we rebuilt mine, I was going to change out the carburetor and distributor, and get rid of that old computer system. I believe the reason we did not was because of this issue you are facing (and a few others). I don't want to scare you, these are just my thoughts as I reviewed some notes and try to think back. I need to talk to the people that helped me with the rebuild and I will report back as soon as I can. I stayed with all original, and that is the 2nd year for that computer system if I recall.

That's fine. I was also going to change out my manifold and carburetor but If I was going to change this distributor. I believe once I do these I would have to wire the car again
