02 lancer

Temp gage goes up almost to the red then it comes back
down..i took radiator cap off level is good..but turn on the
car and i give it gas and the coolant comes up out the
radiator what can that be?

Our 01' Galant had this wrong with it (among many other things)....it was the thermostat.
