2013 Hyundai Sonata need new starter

Asked by Guru9BG6Q3 Jul 09, 2021 at 10:55 AM about the 2013 Hyundai Sonata Limited FWD with Navigation

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Had engine replaced end of August last year, no charge due to recall, then in
October I began having starting issues.  Dealership keep my car for a week and
stated they could not find any problems.  Having same problem again.  Had car
towed in and now they say I need a new starter $882.93.  My question.  Should
starter have been replaced when they replaced the engine?

No, accessories like the starter, alternator, air conditioning compressor, power steering pump, and anything else that's attached to the engine is removed from the old engine and transferred to the new engine. Hope that helps! Jim
