CAR REVING VERY HIGH.

2004 MERCURY SABLE LS 76K MILES JUST STARTED REVING REALLY
HIGH WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE TO TAP GAS PEDAL IN ORDER FOR THE
HIGH IDLE TO GO BACK TO NORMAL. SOMETIMES IT REMAINS HIGH
UNTIL I TURN IT OFF. IS THERE A RECALL?

Hi Farrah! ;) I think your idle control valve is in need of replacement.

Thank you for answering, i will check into that. How can I find out if there is a recall? would you happen to know the answer to that?

Contact your local ford dealer and have your VIN number handy. They will be able to tell you of any outstanding recalls. I'm sure an ICV is not something that would be under a recall.
