Asked by Tomasbandido May 08, 2013 at 12:54 AM about the 2001 Audi A4 Avant 1.8T quattro AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Two days ago the engine oil warning symbol came onto the dash.  Not the oil can with the "minimum" or the "sensor" warning, but just the oil can symbol with buzzer.  What should I do?

Don't start the engine until you find out what it is. It could be that the engine has no oil pressure. Check in at AudiWorld.com and Audizine.com to see what is going on. I would say to check the oil level but some of the Audi engine have no dip stick. They use a level sensor instead.
