2000 Mazda MPV throttle position sensor

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Where can you get a TPS for a 2000 Mazda MPV 2.5L V6? None of the auto parts stores carry this TPS. They told me that this part was non serviceable item. The TPS IS removable from the throttle body of my van. I called a Mazda dealer who told me that the TPS on that vehicle is non-serviceable and that I'd have to buy the entire throttle body for $293.
I did find a TPS for a 2002 Mazda MPV 3.0L V6 that fits my van.  Will using this TPS cause a problem with the vehicle?
I did measure the resistance between the NEW (2002) and OLD (2000) TPS's pins and the new TPS (2002) is slightly less than the original TPS.

I was checking the resistance with both of the TPS not connected to the car harness. The overall resistance of the original TPS was 4.68KΩ while the new TPS was measuring at 4KΩ. At the rest position the TPS reads (original) 568Ω vs. (new) 377Ω. I believe that this sensor is really a Variable Resistor but the voltage drop would be slightly more across the old TPS seeing that it is 192Ω more than the new sensor. I'll try what you suggested with moving / adjusting the sensor before tighten it all the way down. Should I take the voltage readings with the ignition on?
