98 ford explorer windows

Asked by Ramblinrick Aug 10, 2018 at 02:21 PM about the 1998 Ford Explorer 4 Dr XL SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Windows working from driver's panel but not from
passengers position. All are locked out. Master
lock out switch has no effect. Related problem
could be the driver door lock solenoid does not
function although bench tested ok.

Until now I was always sceptical about a problem being caused by broken wires, but not anymore. Forced my way into the wire bundle hub at the driver's door and sure enough, found not 1 but 2 broken. Spliced in some new wire and wrestled the bundle back into place (not a easy task) and "walla!" I've got all working parts again. Cheers... Rick
