98 ford explorer parts

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I smashed in the back end of my 1998 ford explorer, what year  hatch and
bumper will fit my truck?

Your vehicle looks exactly like my 99, down to the color. Check on the net where you can find the years different generations of Explorers were made. Check with a junk yard for the bumper and hatch, they should know what would fit. Absent damage to the quarter panels or structural hinge/lock striker positions a swap out may be easy. Although you will need help and a certain degree of mechanical knowledge to accomplish the task. If a body shop is going to be needed, forget it. The cost will be more than the vehicle is worth.
