I have a 98 ford expedition 4wd xlt that the overdrive won't shut off wires have been disconnected but still wont shut off

Overdrive won't turn off turned on all of a sudden
while driving and have not been able to turn off
since then on a 98 ford expedition xlt

Disconnecting the wires won't do it. A signal needs to be sent to the transmission to shift out of 4th gear. I would take it to a good transmission shop. I do think there is a chance that there is a wiring problem in your steering column.

Check fuse #27 it will need to be replaced. Very cheap just YouTube how to change a fuse. They are very common on them.
