2018 Kia Rio bucking (jerking)

Asked by Mark Apr 23, 2019 at 02:16 PM about the 2018 Kia Rio LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a new Kia Rio that I purchased last year. From almost the very beginning
I noticed that sometimes the vehicle feels like it is bucking (or jerking)
whenever I step on the accelerator traveling around 25 -35 MPH. The
dealership has replaced the spark plugs and the Throttle Body. This made no
difference.  It seems that this happens more frequently during the wet winter
months and less frequently during the warmer months. The problem does not
show up in the data after preforming an analysis check.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and had a fix for it?

Nope. The dealership here in Bermuda have attempted to fix it 5 times. It’s been 18 months since I reported it. It’s still under warranty so I haven’t had to pay for any of the attempted fixes. I have asked for a new vehicle or a refund but they didn’t want to give it to me. After I told the dealership that if they didn’t offer me a new vehicle or a refund I would expose them in the media. They then made me an offer for a refund but they wanted me to sign an agreement that had a non-disclosure clause in it. I told them I’m not signing unless they take it out. They refused to remove the non-disclosure so I still have a 2 year old car with this fault. I then told them that they need to fix my car because it’s still under warranty so I am back to square one with these bastards. Can I report this dealership to Kia headquarters?
