Buying extended warranty

Question type: General
I just bought a 2018 Q3 audi and looking at the warranty for no time limit up to
140,000 kms for $5000, paid $36,000 but I hear repairs can be a nightmare as
they always break down. It has 26,300 kms and warranty to Dec 2021. Should
I do extended if I keep my cars for usually 8 years?

I would not keep a 4 year old Audi another 8 years unless you really like endless repair bills. Buy reliable cars if you keep them 8 years. Make a judgement call on the warranty but I would plan on selling the car well before it hits 100,000 miles (160,000km).
If the warranty is not factory backed it is probably a waste of money.
If you know they always break down and are a nightmare to fix, why did you buy it? Do your homework on the warranty company they're offering. Some are good, others are not. Consumer Reports and the Better Business Bureau are good places to start your research. Next time buy a Ford Product, or a Toyota. Hope that helps! Jim
