how do I buy a car in one state and register it in another state?

Asked by Robert Aug 08, 2018 at 01:24 AM about the 2018 BMW X4 xDrive28i AWD

Question type: General

is the tax paid in the state it is sold in or state registered in?

You pay the tax to your state. The dealer should take care of everything for you. All you do is write the check.

As F_O_R said if the dealership knows what they're doing, no need to worry about the taxes. Once your title has been transferred you can register the car in your state.
