Why does my kia optima run for 2 seconds and then die

I have problem that I just got with my car.  It has been running perfectly fine with absolutely no problems and when I went to work, I started it up and it would run for 2 seconds and then die.  There is no sputtering, coughing, etc, and the check engine light is on.  I see that there is a sticker on the engine compartment fuse box that says the vehicle is equipped with a D.E.I. remote start system, but when I got the vehicle from the dealer, there was no key fob or anything for it.  I got the car in February of this year and have been driving it with no problems, and then all of a sudden...problems.  I want to make sure that I might not be overlooking something simple before I attempt to take it into the shop.  Thanks for any help that the community can offer.

I had the same problem.99% sure its the camshaft positioning sensor.I looked at everything on vehicle and it came down to the sensor.mine had a small crack.replaced and runs perfect.

Most likely the camshaft position sensor or the crankshaft position sensor. I'd scan it just to see. Usually both sensors will set a DTC. If either code is set I'd recommend replacing the timing belt and balance shaft belt (Assuming it's a 2.4L 4 cylinder) with both sensors.

get the fuses and relays checked on ur optima. it looks like a recurring issue, so i might need to get ur car checked thoroughly. http://kiaoptima.org/

IDK but my 2005 kua read crankshaft sensor put new on on ran pefect for 2 miles the. Dies 15 nin later starts up again no codes thus time just runs formike R two then dies thinking its computer now???
