Only a certified person can replace air bags. Somewhere there is a swinging pendulum in the system that may need to be reset. Also a recharged high pressure c02 vessel is in order. Seems strange whoever 're did the bags couldn't have finished the job.
I replaced the airbags from a non wrecked truck. Took 10min. Then I sent out the module to b flashed.
Code 35? Do you have access to a scan tool to get a dtc from the restraints control module im not familiar with the 35 your saying if you had a dtc i would be able to help a little more
No scan tool. I'm referring to the 3-5 code that blinks on the dash. I haven't done anything with the restraints. Is there another module that needs replacing for that?
the RCM is under your cup holders. Its the module that stores and sets dtc for the air bag system. rcm stand for the restraints control module but it is the module for the air bags dunno why the call it restraints but they do lol. anyways. you could take to a shop and tell them you need to scan it and get the codes. the module might have to be replaced after a deployment.
i dont see anything about counting the lights blinking on this one its new enough to where you shouldnt have to do that to tell you anything. if you cant make it to a shop you could try removing the negitive battery cable for a about 5 mins to depleat the backup supply to the module and that may erase your dtc's. Again the RCM has internal sensors also that can be damaged in the event of a crash so it may be an issue to where it needs to be replaced.
Already noted...the RCM has been sent out and reset since the crash. When u first start the truck it blinks the trouble code 2 or 3 times. Its all over the internet. The 3-5 is low resistance on passenger bag. I don't know what else to check or replace
okay sorry about all the information you didnt need then haha. I have been using the factory information never had to use the lights at the dealer sorry for my ignorance on the subject. Passenger air bag low resistance could be caused by: a short in the wiring harness. a low resistance in the passenger air bag module. an RCM internal concern. a shorting bar or camming beam concern in the connector. the only thing you can do is check your wiring and connections. do you have a ohm meter handy?

I'm having the same issue on my 2000 ranger. Airbag light code 35. I just measured the resistance on pins 6 and 7 and got a reading of .4 ohms on each pin. Do you know what it is supposed to read and how to fix it?? I tried to go to that link but it asked me to log in and I obviously don't have access to the site. Can anyone please help me??!!
