4x4 99 ford ranger.. grinding sound

My 99 ford ranger has a grinding
sound when in 2 wheel drive but not in
4 wheel drive high or low.. doesn
matter the speed in 2 wheel drive..
when the grinding starts I apply brakes
it has a popping noise with it.. I've
replaced the hubs and right front cv
axle no change in grinding in 2 wheel
drive.

Have you checked the brake calipers? Sounds like you might have one sticking
