Brake icon on the dash is lit but the emergency brake is off. How do I correct this?

Asked by GaryGS Jun 12, 2014 at 06:46 PM about the 1999 Jeep Wrangler Sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The brake light on the dash came on one day and has not gone off.  I thought it was the
emergency brake was stuck but that was not the case.  Is there a brake sensor
somewhere on the vehicle that needs to be replaced?  If so where is it?

Also check front brake line to make sure it is not frozen. You can do this by pulling it off and then seeing if it will move, if not replace.
