brand new car. car lost power but instruments stayed on. pulled over stopped and restarted with start button . Is this caused by touching gas and brake at same time?

If its brand new take it back to the dealer before doing anything.

The start stop feature works like this on that vehicle, was your foot on the brakes when this happened
