This can be normal for a lot of vehicles due to the closeness to the heater core and it’s radiant heat through the duct work and engine catalyst under the vehicle. If you feel the heat is excessive you can check the heat shields on the converters, and make sure there isn’t something wrong with the way the engine is running causing the problem. You can also add some shielded batting on the floor under the carpets, front bulkhead and hood.

Most vehicles will have heat up under the dash, the reason is the heat transfer from the heater core through the duct work. Other reasons can include poor insulation in the engine compartment, catalysts heat shields missing or damaged, engine running problems like running too rich or even too lean. So check those out. Now you can put insulation materials on the front bulkhead, under the carpet and even wrap the heater duct work. All of this will be custom work.
