What does it mean when the check transmission light came on my 2002 rodeo

Well, have you checked your transmission fluid level? I would do that first and how is your car shifting? Have you noticed any hesitation going from first to second gear? This is usually where the problem starts. And, of course, since you have a 2002, I imagine you have over 125,000 miles or more on your car, correct?

I have a 2000 Hyundai elantra and my car act as if it's shifting different levels and sometimes jerks bad a couple of times,we check fluid and it's low sometimes,don't know if transmission slipping are have leak in pipe,help me please,
