2000 Izuzu rodeo flashing transmission light

The check trans light flashes and it is
slow to take off from a dead stop.
Does this mean the transmission is
going out? It has 174k miles on it.

Code reader said shift sensor. Hopefully it's just that and not anything worse.

Hi guys, I'm having exactly the same problem right now, but changing the shift sensor made no difference. I have checked all the obvious things, so would be keen to know how things turned out for you , Lrussell94?
