82 Chevy k10 motor or transmission

I have a 82 Chevy k10 with 350 and 350 turbo 4
speed auto. It will cruze down the road fine but
when you stomp down on it it hesitates real bad.
But it only does it in gear runs fine reving it up. The
transmission fluid is a little black but doesn't smell
burnt. Has 600 edelbrock changed step up  springs
in carb. What should I look for?

It does fine sitting in the driveway holding it open doesn't miss a lick. Just when it is under load

Also check plugs, plug wires, dist cap and rotor. These can also cause stalling under a load.
