Spark Plug Removal

Asked by Mr. Jackson Mar 08, 2018 at 02:43 PM about the 2004 Hyundai Sonata V6 GL FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Having trouble removing the spark plugs, they're
deeper inside the engine than I'm used to and none
of my sockets seem to fit the plugs, they all seem
too big. Do I need thin walled sockets to remove
plugs that deep inside the head, or is there
something I'm missing?

No,you just need the right size.could be metric also.call your local part store they should be able to give you the size the hex is on the plug from the part number.

Factory manual suggests a 16-mm plug socket, if your socket isn't clearing the hole use a pick and scrape out any crud, and try to make sure you are positioning the socket perpendicular to hole.
