check engine light

my check engine light is on and the vehicle is idleing high approx. 1500 rpms  could this be a throttle position sensor issue or some other sensor.

Have the codes scanned somewhere to find out more about the problem.

Most common cause would be a vacuum leak. Check all rubber hoses and look for damage. Its could be a idle air control valve but i doubt it. Is the check engine light on? and is there any codes present? As for it being the TPS highley unlikely. If you had a bad TPS it would run rough, and would throw a code for sure.

check your codes I actually have a bad idle control valve and a bad throttle position sensor so anything is possible make sure to have checked. my second oxygen sensor was reading bad due to a exaust leak so best to get codes read. you can do that at and auto zone or advanced auto. my engine light was on due to all these

code is PO301. Light came on after it was running while I tried hooking phone up to Bluetooth.
