2008 jeep compass stalled out while driving.

2008 jeep compass stalled out while driving.  pulled over, turn they key..ignition
dead.  Wont turn over.  dash lights, headlights and stereo work, but no ignition.  
gave u0100 code. Had PCM changed, still nothing....

Just had mine fixed doing the same thing. Crankshaft position sensor.
