What is wrong with my steering ?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When i turn left or right more when i turn right my
car makes a binding scraping sound then makes a
clang sound doesn't happen if i take wide turns
nothing visually seems to be binding it up last owner
was driving it with one dangling sway bar bolt and
none on the passenger side i have replaced both
sway bar bolts and both upper a arms everything
else looks ok no cuts on any cv boots please help

try to see if steering box or rack whatever it has is loose while turning in sitting position, something is shifting under pressure to move the spindels and wheels, maby thats why the sway bar was unhooked,

Rebuilding the 2000 explorer front suspension is not difficult and no special tools are required. The torsion bar suspension will last about 70K or so before ball joints go out. Check the ball joints, they probably need replacing. If that is the case you can purchase all new suspension parts for about 700 bucks. Then align afterwards. No use pulling things apart over and over again.
