2004 sonata 2.4 runs for a min, than dies and won't start.

Asked by Andrea Aug 03, 2016 at 02:39 PM about the 2004 Hyundai Sonata FWD

Question type: General

For a few weeks my 2004 Sonata 2.4 has been
getting worse. At first it would run for a half hour
and then start hesitating before completely dying
on me. Then it's would start and go for maybe 3 or
4 miles before dying. Sometimes I would sit on the
side of the road for a half hour before it would
start and only drive a mile this time. I do have a
pretty bad exhaust leak right at the cat converter. I
also have already changed the fuel pump that
didn't make a difference in my problem. Can
anyone please help me? I have no idea what's
wrong..
