Replace a part in a 2005 V4 tib from a 2009 V6 tib

Asked by Komodo Nov 14, 2012 at 06:48 PM about the 2005 Hyundai Tiburon GS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was speeding over a corner but sadly shit happened...i turned my steering wheel all the way to he left and hit the
brakes to stop the car as it hit the sidewalk....it stopped all right but the left side was in the road while the right side
on the sidewalk and its a bit high for the tib...while the car is turned off my friend tryed to turn the steering wheel but
he forced it i think, what happened is i heard a loud noise after he forced it and now the steering wheel can turn
round and round left and right but the wheels dont turn with it not even one bit. Oh and the left front wheel is moved
a bit to the back unlike the front right wheel. The car turns on allright  like always and no problems with electricity...

1. Can u tell me what could be wrong and what should i change in it.
2. "someone" told be whats wrong with it but he is not trust worthy...and tiburons are rare here..can i take the part
from a 2009 v6 tib to put it in my 2005 v4 tib?

I dont know the part name in english but maybe i can post a pic of it. And i'm relying on ur experience

Ur help is very much appreciated and sorry 4 my sucky english :) hlp plz!

Maybe check to see if you sway bar snapped or somthing under there may have come unbolted. Im talking about under the front of the car. good luck.

Thx for the help. I'll see maybe something got unbolted but sadly i think the problem is beyond that. Many thx sir and any more help welcome

It sounds like you steering column broke during the accident. If the steering wheel tuns and doesn't stop the that might be it. But I'd suggest using a 2005 or 2006 steering column instead of the 2009 one. I'm not sure if they are compatable
