Car will not take gas

My car is past empty and went to gas station
to fill up and  the car will not take the gas it
just over flows how do I fix it

Try pumping gas really slowly. You probably have a gas tank venting problem.

When I bought my sunfire, there was a dead fuse that made it so the gas indicator didn't work. We had no idea how much gas was in it. Replaced the fuse and it works fine now. Are any of the other indicators on your dash not working?
