My car shakes after I put gas in it

Car almost does not want to start unless I
step on gas

That is from over filling the gas tank. The EVAP canister filter is getting saturated with gas, and can not breath. You are suppose to stop filling when the gas pump nozzle clicks the first time.

My car shakes also after my husband fills the gas tank the last few times. If he overfilled it what can I do? I hate to take it into get something repaired that doesn't need it. I had a fuel filter installed just a few years ago.
