all hondas do that when the anitfreeze isnt full of it may have a bad temperature sensor
Go with Rob...low coolant in Hondas causes a surging idle.
when the engine revs up and down all by itself continually, check for a vacuum leak. maybe a vacuum hose came unconnected or broken.
isn't there an iacv (idle air control valve) on Hondas ? I know when they go bad that surging idle is a symptom
